Trade Beads are decorative glass beads used between the 16th and 20th century as a token money to exchange for goods and services. (hence the name). Trade Beads were used to purchase African resources by early Europeans as well as used by various tribes in communal ceremonies.Beads made by Murano and Venetian beadmakers entered the bead business in the second half o the 15th Century.
These colorful earrings are created using Venetian trade beads, African White Hearts , matte Lapis and Hill Tribe Silver. They are accented with bright sterling silver beads and suspended by Sterling Silver earring wires.

The most beautiful gardens in the world were said to be in ancient Persia. The garden's purpose was, to provide a place for protected relaxation in a variety of manners: spiritual, and leisurely (such as meetings with friends), essentially a paradise on earth. created as a place of relaxation and contemplation.
These lovely enamel and silver beads are bathed in images of flowers floating on blue water combined with faceted Pyrite and Hill Tribe Silver. They are bright, cheerful and light weight.

A small and humble tree, the Musclewood Tree is a strong and adaptable tree which allows it to grow in a variety of conditions. Often seen as an under story tree among, Maples, Oaks and Birch Trees.
This necklace has many of the same characteristics of the Musclewood Tree as it too, is petite, humble and understated. It is made up of Indonesian Glass Beads, Faceted Hematite , Copper and Bronze Beads. It is beaded to 18” with 12 additional inches provided by faceted, Bronze cable chain for a total length of 30”. Beaded embellishments are suspended from the bronze chain. It is lovely on it’s own with its’ juxtaposed matte finished glass and sparkly hematite but would make a lovely companion to Red Maple Sunrise also shown in this months collection. This Lucky Star is made of Sterling Silver which has been electro etched from my original design.
